The iEd Classroom is an online classroom where students can see, hear, talk to and interact with qualified native English speaking instructors and peers. Together they can use tools like the classroom’s interactive whiteboard, and media like videos and pictures. Joining and using the classroom is easy, and does not require CD installation. Best of all, the iEd Classroom can be joined from a computer, tablet or smartphone and from anywhere with an internet connection.
iEd Online is where students can find and download lesson handouts like vocabulary lists and reading passages. In addition, students can watch supplementary learning videos related to their lesson or take practice quizzes. Students can check their progress as they go through the iEd Program and can collect learning achievements from their instructors. iEd Online also contains transcripts of materials from the iEd Café.
The iEd Café is a mobile learning center designed to train English pronunciation. Students can use their phone or Skype to call the iEd Café and get access to recordings made by native English speakers. To help train pronunciation, students can record themselves speaking and compare it to the native English speaker’s pronunciation until it matches. Students can find materials relating to new vocabulary, phrases, dictation exercises, speeches, NBC news and listening quizzes on the iEd Café.
The Immersion Field Trip is one of the most unique features of the iEd Program. Using the internet, students are brought to famous and local places in North America or Europe and are introduced to the local environment and people. Students are given tasks to complete by using their English speaking skills in a real life environment and with real local people on the street. Not only are students learning English as if they were really there, but they are also learning about the local environment and culture and are being prepared to study abroad in the future.
