IMPROVING HOW WE LEARN
 
Exciting changes are coming to the iEd Café. We’re happy to announce that in an ongoing effort to improve the way we learn and maximize our learning milestones, we are changing the way the iEd Cafe works. These changes will help keep the iEd Café fresh, exciting and assessable for years to come, while preserving everything you already know and love about the iEd Café.

NEW FUNCTIONS
 
We are expanding the abilities of the iEd Café to give students more practice with instructors by creating a new conversation trainer. For example, students can now practice having a conversation by calling into the iEd Café and talking with instructors about topics related to their weeks lessons. These conversations are designed to help increase the speaking fluency of students by reducing the time it takes to respond to questions. Students will ultimately will no longer need to translate in their head, but will instead be able to react to questions in English immediately.
 
In addition, the iEd Café now is able to provide listening quizzes that students can receive grades on. Students can now complete listening exercises that work with their iEd Online account and offer a wider range of learning opportunities for their program.
 
ADVANCED CONTROL
 
In order to customize the learning experience for our students, the iEd Café now has advanced controls for customizing speed and time. Students taking listening quizzes can now practice at different speeds depending on their English level. New upgrades also allow teachers and admins to examine student answers and recordings close in order to give students better feedback. These advances are just a few of the innovations planned for 2016.
